Easter Sunday for any Christian is one of the blessed moments. On this day, Lord Jesus Christ resurrected from his grave. Three days after Christ was crucified on the Good Friday. In the New Testament of the Christian Bible, it is written that Christ’s body was taken down from the cross and buried in a cave tomb. Roman soldiers guarded the tomb and an enormous stone was put over the entrance. According to the Gospel of John in the New Testament, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb where Jesus was buried and found it empty. An angel told her that Jesus had risen. To celebrate “Passion of Christ”, Dr Fr Roby Kannanchira, Director, Chavra Cultural Centre (Delhi), organised a special programme at the Western Court in Janpath, New Delhi.
Speaking on this occasion Fr Roby Kannanchira, extended a warm welcome to all, “This is the second consecutive year we are holding this event, last year we organised at the Constitution Club. This year, we decided to organise the programme at the Western Court.” He thanked all for their presence. “In India, we see such a huge diversity of culture which sends a message of secularism. Everybody should be allowed to follow their religion. If I celebrate my religion then why should I stop others from doing so and this is the true essence of India where we follow the ‘Unity In Diversity’ in our day to day life,” said Fr Kannanchira in conversation to Nonsense Talk News.
The morning rolled with cultural programme by the members of Chavra Cultural Centre. Young members from the Centre presided over the function. Guests hit on the Easter Egg as per the tradition.

National Commission of Minority (NCM) member, Rinchen Lhamo who represents the Buddhist community said, “No religion teaches hatred. We must show respect towards all religions.”
Temple of Understanding India Foundation, General Secretary, AK Merchant said, “Religion creates a bonding, not a divide.” Merchant reiterated that course materials should be designed in such a manner that they inspire children to understand ‘unity in diversity.
Founder of Acharya Sushil Muni Mission, Vivek Muni who presents the Jain community said there are hardly anybody in today’s society who can claim that he or she is free of stress but to counter this all must practice Yoga and meditation.
Islamic scholar, Dr Maulana Kalbe Rushaid, asked the fringe elements who spread hatred in the name of religion must step aside. Maulana reiterated, “humanity above any religion.”
Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar, Head of the Jewish community in New Delhi said his community is very small with only 5000 people in India. Rabbi Ezekiel said, “Lord Jesus Christ who had sacrificed his life for the mankind, gave an eternal light.”
Goswami Sushil Maharaj, Convener, Indian Parliament of All Religions, asked the Chavra Cultural Centre to become a part of the world religion parliament to be organised during the G-20 Summit.
Fr Kannanchira asked everybody present in the auditorium to join for a group photograph.
