“Our Ram Will No Longer Live In Tent,” Says PM Modi After Pran-Pratishtha In Ayodhya

Finally, Ayodhya gets Ram Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (January 22, 2024), performed the special puja at the temple on the occasion of pran-pratishtha of Lord Rama. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) President, Mohan Bhagwat also graced the occasion among other dignitaries.

The idol of Ramlalla (baby Rama) was unveiled with full Hindu rituals amidst chanting of mantras and ‘shlokas’ from the Ramcharitmanas. The atmosphere wore a festive look since morning as the devotees who had come from across the country’s length and breath performed bhajans and danced on the tunes of songs in praise of Lord Rama. Chants of Jai Shree Ram and Jai Jai Shree Ram were heard all over Ayodhya.

PM Modi arrived at the temple little after 11:30am and took a round of the beautifully decorated temple. Around 12:20pm the pran-pratistha ceremony began. Prime Minister Modi took part in the aarti. The idol of Ramlalla was beautifully dressed and decorated with ornaments. deco

The pran-pratistha ceremony took place in the Abhijeet muhurat which is the eighth muhurat of the day between the sunrise and the sunset. It stays for 48 minutes. It’s regarded as an auspicious moment.

Why Abhijit muhurat? Lord Ram was born in Abhijeet muhurat in alignment with Mrigashira Nakshatra, Amrit Siddhi Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga aligned.

After the ceremony, PM Modi offered prayers at the Kuber Tila Shiv temple. He then addressed a gathering of more than 7,000 people, including seers and prominent personalities, at the venue. Prime Minister Modi said, After a long wait for ages, our Ram has arrived today. Ram temple’s construction will set off a firestorm. They should reconsider as Ram is energy, not fire, a solution not dispute.”

PM Modi had followed all the rituals before the inauguration and had been on fast for eleven days. He slept on the floor. He had coconut water before the ceremony. “Our Ramlalla will no longer live in a tent. Our Ram Lalla will stay in a magnificent temple,” added Prime Minister Modi.

Ram Temple in Ayodhya has witnessed many bitter moments in the past including the massacre of karsevaks post Babri Masjid demolition. Temple construction had been a permanent feature of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) poll manifesto but it became possible in the Narendra Modi’s regime. However, it will be incomplete without remembering BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, then Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Ashok Singhal and Mahant Ramchandra Das Parmahans, had been associated with Ayodhya since 1949 when the idol of Ramlalla was found during an excavation and is regarded as the champion of Ram Temple movement. He had threatened of self-immolating himself if the teme was not built.
